‘Good Things Brewing:’ Two bridge builders using food and stories to connect people | WUWM 89.7 FM

Good issues are brewing in Milwaukee, and VISIT Milwaukee launched a TV collection to share these stories of positivity. Good Things Brewing seeks to present what makes Milwaukee an excellent place to stay by the eyes of a number of the metropolis’s most fascinating residents, hosted by Milwaukee native David Caruso. The newest episode of the collection options Derek Mosley — self-described foodie and the director of the Marquette University Law School’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, and Sandra Dempsey, founder and proprietor of Source Ten Video advertising company and a co-founder of Estamos Unidos US.

Exciting, new alternatives are what initially introduced each Dempsey and Mosley to the Milwaukee space. “[I met a man] who’s the kindest man I’ve ever met. And I met him in Mexico whereas I used to be on trip. He was on trip. We met there and we acquired married. And that is why I moved,” explains Dempsey. Originally from Chicago, Mosley arrived in Milwaukee whereas pursuing greater training. “And what introduced me right here was a full trip fellowship to Marquette Law School. That’s it. That did it. I got here sight unseen,” says Mosley. Similar to Mosley, Dempsey spent the early phases of her profession working as an lawyer. An opportunity alternative led to her transitioning to ESPN Deportes the place she found her ardour for speaking. She says, “You know I’d say the gorgeous factor about that is that I’ve remained actually true to the core of what acquired me into media and communications, which was the necessity of Spanish language … aiding purchasers in how they’ll speak to Latino neighborhood in a means that’s related and that they’ll perceive and really feel welcome.” Mosley shares an analogous ardour for serving to connect people. “Facebook was fascinating to me as a result of I had all these Black buddies and all these white buddies.
